The Northern Ireland Secretary (Mr
Rees) has denied allegations by Mr Ian
Paisley that he lied to the Commons
over the question of immunity for the
IRA leader Mr Seamus Twomey.
He said there was no agreement with
the IRA and no immunity for men wanted
for political offences.
Mr Paisley backed his allegations with
what purported to be an Army document
appearing to indicate that Mr Twomey
was allowed to move openly without
fear of arrest.
