FRANCE WILL COME ROUND - GUMMER
France will take a different view
of tXe US-EC farm subsidies deal
after "mature consideration", John
Gummer has predicted.
The Agriculture Minister said the
EC had totally supported the deal.
He said the French would see the
agreement differently once they had
studied it "point by point".
And despite French statements that
the deal is unacceptable Mr Gummer
said Commission president Jacques
Delors had publicly backed it.
